The Challenge

Jacada had over 1,000 destination pages that required new blocks, refreshed design and new SEO-optimised content. Managing this via the CMS alone would have been a daunting task for content editors.

We needed to engineer a solution to roll out block and template updates programmatically, at scale, and with no site downtime. We also needed a way for the editorial team to edit the copy for a new accordion block (both title and content fields) across hundreds of posts. Once complete, an import feature would write that content to each post, instantly rendering the new blocks and content at the click of a button.

Some of the new blocks and designs required imagery that Jacada would have also found very time-consuming to manage manually. We needed to implement intelligent fallback mechanisms which would source appropriate imagery from elsewhere in the site’s media library.

Solution

Scripted rollout

• We provided Jacada with a spreadsheet of all destination posts.
• We migrated the existing content into a working document and restructured it in line with best practice, so it would sit cleanly within the new dropdown accordion block.
• We leveraged AI to generate SEO optimised titles for each new accordion block item (in the Jacada tone of voice) and then passed it to Jacada for manual review and refinement.
• When the content was finalised, we engineered an import of that content to populate the content in the CMS.

We also applied programmatic fallbacks to assign block titles customised to each destination page location term, so each new block title rendered a title specific to each page, allowing Jacada to override those as required.

Results

800+ pages updated with new designs and SEO optimised content within the time it took to deploy and rebuild the next.js front end of the site – less that 1 hour
